Damned cheap crap

20130212-231421.jpg

I am getting a little tired of can openers.

It doesn’t seem to matter how much I pay for them they all seem to break from the same basic failure.

They are cheap steel with a chrome coating and they are not sealed properly.

The end result is that they all fail and snap at some point.

If they were stronger metal without the cheap coating they would not have this issue.

I will just have to get a much more expensive one, and make sure it is not fast constructed for pence on a production line in the Third World.

Food for Shrove Tuesday

So this year Pancake Day falls just before Valentines.

We will be out at a non romantic event on Thursday so I thought I would push the boat a little further out this Shrove Tuesday.

I present, cinnamon and sugar pancakes with vanilla ice cream, a peach and malt whisky coolie drizzled with cinnamon sugar and accompanied by a Proseco.

The flowers were from a friend, Mikey, when Leigh was ill and te Candle a natural beeswax one we found at a craft fair. The candle holder was made by Ben for us as a Christmas Present at nursery.

Religious Image

Still on the theme of the Photo Challenge set by castaway on her blog today I took a wander outside after my one day of sickness yesterday, to capture some images of a Religious theme.

The choice was obvious as there is a nearby church that i could get access to, and it seems that I was fortunate it was visible from the road as the first image will reveal.

I really like the look and shape of the building, and it makes me wonder what it is like inside, it looks squat, despite the towering height, the lack of a steeple adds to this, but it is also the width, I wonder if it has large transepts…

The Images including the grunged Gothic image that is my image of the day, I could hardly be a fan of Dark metal without doing some kind of remix to a crucifix.
